Why Maritime Management

Gujarat, situated on the western coast of India, is a principal Maritime State endowed with favourable strategic port locations. The prominence of Gujarat is a virtue of having nearly 1600 kms long coastline, which accounts for 1/3rd of the coastline of India. The State acts a natural gateway to the rich land-locked northern and central hinterland. It has a vast and fertile hinterland comprising West, North, and Central India that constitutes a large amount to the total India trade. It has the longest coastline in India and has a multiple range of ports along with a wide range of cargos. Gulf of Cambay and Gulf of Kutch provides natural navigational safety and logistical advantage to northern and central parts of India and proximity to West Asia, Africa and Europe.
